Even if you are not a fan of football or the Dallas Cowboys, fellow patriots will have to like the message that Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott had for the National Anthem protesters.
In an interview with Yahoo Sports, Prescott said he would not be joining the ranks of those kneeling during the national anthem and that he is not at all tempted to protest. When asked in the interview to explain his reasoning for not joining the protest, Prescott replied:
“I mean, it’s bigger than I think some of us think,” he said. “It’s just important for me to go out there, hand over my heart, represent our country and just be thankful and not take anything I’ve been given and my freedom for granted.”
I am refreshed to see a pro athlete standing up during the national anthem, showing respect and appreciation, and giving thanks for the freedoms and liberties that is afforded to all Americans. It is a breath of fresh air.
Also the head coach of the Dallas Cowboys Jason Garrett commented on the anthem protest when he told the Dallas News Sports Day in an interview on August 1, 2017 saying, “There’s no question in my mind. The national anthem is sacred. The flag is sacred. And our team has demonstrated that.”
Remember the Dallas Cowboys was once referred to as “America’s Team”and just maybe the mantra is returning. Dak Prescott and Jason Garrett stood up for the national anthem. Pro athletes and coaches need to learn from them and do the same.
We need to ask, why are we seeing the brazen assault by leftist leaning liberals against the basic fabric and symbols of our great nation: our national anthem and our flag? The matter is bigger than some might think. The insanity that the left is pushing, attempting to erase portions of our great nation’s history, coupled with the desire of these sycophants to show disrespect the very symbols that unite us as American people is very concerning.
I will give the leftist liberal socialist credit for one and one thing only: they are relentless. But that means we also must be relentless in our defense of not only our symbols but our country as a whole. It is up to everyone one of us to defend against the tyrants that want to destroy our great county. As quoted by Benjamin Franklin “They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety.”
