President Trump just keeps winning this time by taking the United States out of the Paris Agreement on Climate Change. Trump defined on Thursday June 1st what his “America First” agenda means by taking the US out of the globalist plan to destroy America with carbon taxes. As the president said this Paris accord would negatively impact American workers.
Giving his speech from the White House Rose Garden, President Trump gave plenty of reasons why he believed the Paris agreement was a bad deal for the American taxpayers and workers, but the president did leave the door open for a more US friendly re-negotiation.
“I am fighting everyday for the people of this country: therefore, in order to fulfill my duty to protect America and its citizens the United States will withdraw from the Paris Climate Accord. But begin negotiations to reenter either the Paris Accord or an entirely new transaction.”
“We’re getting out, but we will start to negotiate and we will see if we can make a deal that’s fair. If we can, that’s great. If we can’t, that’s fine.”
“Not only does this deal subject our citizens to harsh economic restrictions, it fails to live up to our environmental ideals. The bottom line is that the Paris Accord is very unfair at the highest level to the United States.”
President Trump criticized the Paris deal for shipping millions of American jobs overseas, and also claimed what we already know it was designed to financially weaken the United States.
“In short, the agreement doesn’t eliminate coal jobs. It just transfers those jobs out of America and the United States, and ships them to foreign countries. This agreement is less about the climate and more about other countries gaining a financial advantage over the United States.”
This was a reminder to us the American people of Trump’s pledge to put America First and he reminded us of that when we stated “I was elected to represent the citizens of Pittsburgh, not Paris.” After the president’s speech, the White House released a supplemental video explaining why the Paris Agreement is such a bad deal. Everyone that wants to understand about the Paris Agreement needs to see this video.
Remember last week at the G7 summit, President Trump upset the EU leaders when he refused to give his commitment to the climate change initiatives that was outlined in the 195 nation accord and said he would wait to announce his decision this week.
After Trump’s speech the former President Obama criticized the president’s decision by claiming that the nations that was in the accord “will be the nations that reap the benefits in jobs and industries created.”
